Is the Agafay a real desert?

Yes, but a stone desert rather than sand dunes. Its rolling hills look out over the Atlas Mountains and it's only 45 minutes from Marrakech. It's ideal for a short break. For golden sand dunes, you need to travel further to Merzouga or Zagora.

What is the Agafay desert camp like?

Comfortable private tents with proper beds, in a peaceful setting with views of the Atlas. Evenings are spent watching the sunset, then dinner under the stars.

When is the best time to visit the Agafay?

Spring and autumn are ideal. Winter days are sunny but nights are cold, so bring a warm layer. Summer afternoons are very hot, so activities are planned for the morning and evening.
