Tour FAQs
How does booking work?
Booking with Visit Morocco Tours is straightforward and personal:
1. Contact us — fill out our contact form, email, call or WhatsApp with your travel dates and interests.
2. Initial consultation — we discuss your vision, preferences, budget and any special requests (call, email or Zoom).
3. Custom proposal — we design a tailored itinerary specifically for you, not a template with dates changed.
4. Review and refine — you review the proposal; we adjust anything needed.
5. Confirm and book — once you're happy, we confirm dates and process payment.
6. Pre-trip support — detailed pre-trip information, guide introductions, logistics confirmation.
7. Experience Morocco — you travel; we provide on-ground support throughout.
8. Post-trip connection — stay in touch, share experiences, plan your return.
Timeline: usually 2–4 weeks from initial contact to confirmation, depending on your flexibility.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideal: 2–3 months ahead gives us time to coordinate perfectly.
Acceptable: 6–8 weeks is workable for most dates.
Flexible: we handle last-minute bookings (2–4 weeks), though availability may vary.
Peak season (April–May, September–October): book earlier if possible.
Low season (June–August, December–January): more flexibility.
Your specific requests, season and logistics determine feasibility. We'll always tell you honestly if timing is tight.
What if I don't know what I want?
That's normal — and fine. We work with many travellers who know Morocco interests them, but not exactly how.
1. Tell us your vibe: 'I want to relax and experience authentic culture', 'I'm adventurous and want a challenge', 'I want Instagram-worthy moments', 'I want to disappear and think'.
2. We make recommendations, based on vibe, season and budget. We suggest combinations of experiences and explain why each element works.
3. You decide: 'Yes, that sounds perfect', 'I like parts of that; change this', or 'Tell me something completely different'.
You're never forced into a generic itinerary. We brainstorm together until it feels right.
How do you create custom itineraries?
Our process is collaborative.
1. We ask questions: what excites you (desert, mountains, culture, food, adventure, relaxation)? How long (3 days to 3 weeks)? What's your pace (slow, fast, flexible)? Any particular interests (photography, wellness, honeymooning, hiking)? Budget comfort level?
2. We research and propose: we design a custom itinerary matching your interests, source the best guides, accommodations and restaurants matching your style, and build in flexibility for spontaneity.
3. You review and refine: you get a detailed proposal (not a template), you suggest changes — 'less time in Marrakech, more in Chefchaouen' — and we adjust until it's perfect.
4. We coordinate everything: all bookings, reservations and logistics. You just arrive and experience.
Timeline: usually 1–2 weeks from consultation to approved itinerary.
Can I mix custom experiences with group activities?
Absolutely. Many travellers do this:
Private guides for hiking, camel trekking and 4x4 adventures.
Small-group activities for cooking classes (meet other travellers).
Private accommodation but shared meals — economy plus cultural connection.
Do guides work full days or hourly?
Both, depending on your itinerary.
Full-day guides: typical for multi-day trips (dawn departure, evening return).
Hourly guides: available for specific activities (3–4 hour city tours, hiking segments).
Multi-day guides: the same guide for your entire trip, for continuity and relationship-building.
Cost: full-day rates are reasonable when spread across your group. Hourly guides cost more per hour but work well for shorter activities.
How much does a trip typically cost?
Highly variable, but as a guide (per person, per day):
Budget: £80–120/day (shared accommodation, local transport, basic meals).
Mid-range: £150–250/day (nice hotels, private transport, good restaurants).
Comfort: £300–500+/day (excellent hotels, private experiences, fine dining).
Typical 7-day trip for 2 people: budget £1,200–1,700 per person; mid-range £1,800–2,800 per person; comfort £3,000–4,500+ per person.
Usually extra: international flights, travel insurance, personal shopping and extra activities, tips for guides, alcoholic beverages outside included meals, and single room supplements.
Full transparency: we provide itemised quotes. No surprises.
What's included in the price?
Varies by itinerary, but typically: accommodation (hotels, riads, camps you selected), transportation (between cities, to activities, airport transfers), professional guides, some meals (usually breakfast plus some dinners), activity entrance fees, and all coordination, logistics, reservations and support.
Typically not included: international flights, travel insurance, meals not specified, alcoholic drinks, tips and gratuities, and personal activities beyond the itinerary.
We provide an itemised quote showing exactly what's included. No hidden costs.
What's your cancellation policy?
60+ days before: full refund of deposit minus £100 admin fee.
30–59 days before: 50% of total trip cost forfeited.
14–29 days before: 75% of total trip cost forfeited.
Less than 14 days: 100% non-refundable.
Exceptions and flexibility: travel insurance covers cancellations (highly recommended); for legitimate emergencies such as a death in the family or serious illness we work with you; and for force majeure — war, natural disaster, pandemic — we rebook or refund.
Our philosophy: life happens. We're not trying to trap you; we're protecting against real costs we incur, such as guide payments and accommodation bookings.
What if I need to change my dates?
Usually workable.
Moving dates forward or back: usually possible with 3+ weeks' notice.
Shortening your trip: no penalty; you just pay for the revised dates.
Extending your trip: we add dates, if available, at standard rates.
Cost difference: if new dates cost more you pay the difference; if less, you get a partial refund.
Process: tell us as soon as possible. We check availability and confirm the revised itinerary.
