Think you’ll just be sitting on a camel? Prepare to be schooled. This isn’t a ride; it’s a reluctant, loping, and utterly profound meditation. The camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes is Morocco’s oldest liturgy, a slow-motion ballet set to the rhythm of shifting continents. We don’t just give you a saddle; we hand you a backstage pass to a silence so deep you can hear your own heartbeat. This is where the map ends and the memory begins.

Good to know

Accessibility
The desert is beautifully unforgiving. The camel trekking path is over soft, uneven sand and involves mounting/dismounting from a significant height. The camp has shared facilities with sandy pathways. This experience is not suitable for those with significant mobility issues, back problems, or balance concerns. However, for those with minor limitations, our guides are masters of assistance and patience. For a fully accessible Sahara experience, we recommend our Private 4x4 Sunset Tour.

Insider tips

The Name: Ask your guide your camel's name. It's often a charmingly practical Berber name like "Mohammed" (Dear) or "Lahcen," and it transforms the experience from a ride to a connection. The Photo Op: When dismounted for sunset, fully remove your shoes. The feeling of the warm, silky sand between your toes is a sensory highlight everyone forgets to mention. The Guide's Tea: The mint tea offered at camp isn't just a drink; it's a ritual of welcome. Accept it with your right hand and savour the moment- it's the desert's way of saying "you are welcome here."
