Night 1: Overnight in Rabat

Your desert adventure begins in Morocco’s elegant capital, Rabat. Your guided tour starts at the majestic Royal Palace (Dar al-Makhzen), where you’ll admire the grand exteriors and learn about Morocco’s monarchy. Just a short walk away, you’ll stand in awe at the Hassan Tower, the unfinished minaret of a grand 12th-century vision, and the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a masterpiece of modern Alaouite dynasty architecture.Afterwards, your guide will lead you through the enchanting blue-and-white streets of the Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified citadel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Bou Regreg River. Explore its Andalusian gardens, narrow lanes, and enjoy panoramic views. The evening is free for you to enjoy dinner at your leisure in the capital.

Day 2

Night 1: Overnight in Agafay Camp

After breakfast, we travel to the vibrant Marrakech. Your guided tour of the “Red City” begins with an outside view of the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, its minaret a timeless symbol of the city. Next, your guide will lead you through the stunning Bahia Palace (entrance included), a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture filled with serene courtyards, intricate mosaics, and carved cedar wood.The immersion continues as you step into the labyrinthine souks and markets. Your guide will navigate you through this living tapestry of colors, scents, and sounds. You will stop at a spice shop for a demonstration of Berber herbs and argan oil. A delicious included lunch at a local restaurant provides a moment of respite.In the afternoon, we depart for the Agafay Desert. This unique stone desert, with its vast, arid landscapes and rolling hills, offers a taste of the desert experience just outside Marrakech. Upon arrival at your luxury desert camp, you’ll have time to settle in before enjoying a spectacular sunset over the desert. This is followed by a traditional Berber dinner under the stars, accompanied by live music around a campfire.

Day 3

Rabat

Wake up in the serene silence of the Agafay Desert and enjoy a sunrise over the dramatic landscape. After breakfast at the camp, you have the option for a camel trek across the stone desert (optional, additional cost), offering a truly authentic experience.We then begin our journey back to Rabat. The drive allows you to reflect on the stark contrast between the imperial city, the vibrant energy of Marrakech, and the tranquil beauty of the desert. The tour concludes upon arrival in Rabat.

The Agafay Desert is a striking stone desert (known as “hamada”) with rocky plains and dramatic hills, unlike the Sahara’s sand dunes. While different, it offers a genuine desert atmosphere and stunning, silent landscapes, and is much closer to Marrakech, saving travel time.
The camp offers a comfortable “glamping” experience with proper beds in tents, shared bathroom facilities, and communal dining areas. It provides an authentic feel without sacrificing all basic comforts.
